The 5100 Series 89793 is a Draper Tools UK flexible ratcheting hose clamp plier set designed for installing and removing spring band hose clamps in restricted or buried locations. The 700mm flexible cable lets the operator work the clamp from outside the engine bay or behind a manifold while the jaws stay locked on the clamp ears.
Spring band clamps — fitted as OEM on most modern vehicles for radiator, heater and breather hose — are difficult to release with standard pliers because they need to be compressed and held while the hose is freed. The ratchet mechanism on the 89793 holds the clamp open hands-free, so the operator can move the clamp along the hose, swap the hose and re-position the clamp without losing tension.
