The 4000 Series W1 is Uniclamp's entry-level hose clamp range — zinc-plated mild steel band, screw and housing throughout. Designed for dry indoor applications where corrosion is not a factor: household appliances, ducting, general workshop assembly, and other protected environments where moisture exposure is minimal or absent.

The zinc coating provides basic corrosion protection and meets DIN 50961 standard for zinc plating. Once the coating is scratched or worn, the underlying mild steel will rust — these clamps are not suitable for outdoor, damp, humid, or marine environments. For any application with moisture exposure, W2 (stainless band) or higher is recommended.
