The SD08 is an 8mm rigid steel shaft nut driver for tightening hose clamps with an 8mm hex screw head. The 8mm socket size suits the larger-bodied stainless and marine-grade clamps in Uniclamp's 5700, 6700 and 6800 Series.

The rigid shaft design delivers direct torque transfer without flex, which matters when tightening hose clamps to their rated clamping torque. Flex-shaft drivers lose torque through shaft deflection and make it difficult to feel the clamp reaching its tightening limit - neither is acceptable when a misapplied clamp torque causes either a leaking joint or a damaged hose.
