P clips — also called pipe retaining clips or saddle clips — are the standard method for securing hydraulic hose, fuel line, brake line, conduit and cable looms to chassis rails, machine frames and bulkheads. The rubber or PVC liner cushions the clamped line against vibration and prevents chafe wear, eliminating the fatigue failures that occur when unsupported hose rubs against bare metal fixings.
Choosing the right P clip
Three material grades cover the full range of environments:
-
W1 zinc plated rubber lined — general purpose for automotive, agricultural, transport and industrial applications. Available in two hole sizes: 6.4mm (3100 Series) and 10mm for M10 fixings (3110 Series).
-
W3 all stainless rubber lined — for marine, pool, food processing, chemical and coastal environments where zinc plated clips would corrode. See the 3170 Series.
-
PVC coated — Australian made to AS1397/62Z275, bonded PVC over zinc plated steel for agricultural machinery, mining plant and transport where full external protection is needed. See the 3150 Series.
Single and double clips
Standard single P clips are available from 6mm up to 90mm internal diameter. Double P clips secure two cables, hoses or pipes side by side with a single fixing — suited to automotive wiring loom and brake line routing, HVAC pipework and industrial cable management where parallel runs need to be retained together.
Workshop kits
The PCK-160W1 (W1 zinc) and PCK-160W3 (W3 stainless) assortment kits contain 160 clips across all common sizes from 6mm to 30mm in a carry case. One kit on the bench covers most repair and installation jobs without carrying multiple individual packs.
All P clips are available for Australia-wide delivery. Select the series that matches your environment and mounting hole requirement from the products below.
