9870 Series Wire Rope Grips Packs of 10
The 9870 Series wire rope grips are supplied in packs of 10 — a workshop-friendly volume for fencing contractors, riggers and farmers running multiple wire rope terminations. Used to form a permanent loop in the end of wire rope for shackle, eye or thimble attachment.
Wire rope grips (also called bulldog clips or wire rope clamps) work by clamping the dead end of the rope back against the live (load-bearing) end. Two or three grips per termination, correctly oriented, provide a secure permanent connection rated for the working load of the rope.
Correct installation
- Always use minimum 2 grips for low-load terminations, 3 for safety-critical
- Saddle (the curved body) on the live end, U-bolt on the dead end
- Space grips at 6x the wire rope diameter
Available in multiple sizes — choose the size matching the wire rope diameter you're working with. Pairs with our wire rope thimbles (9870 series) for forming protected eyes that resist crushing and chafing.
