HCL Fasteners is the world's largest producer of non-metallic hose clips, manufacturing from the UK to ISO 9001 certified quality standards. Uniclamp is the sole Australian distributor for HCL Ezyclik and Herbie Clips. If your production line, machinery or field installation requires a non-metallic hose clip in Australia, Uniclamp is the source.
This guide covers the three HCL non-metallic clip systems available through Uniclamp: Ezyclik for production-line assembly, Ezyclamp for field installation, and Herbie Clips for hose retention across general applications.
Why Non-Metallic Hose Clips
Standard worm drive hose clamps are made from metal. In most applications this is fine. In specific environments and industries it creates problems:
- Corrosion — in marine, subsea, chemical and food processing environments, metal clamps corrode and fail, or contaminate the product or substrate.
- Conductivity — in 5G telecoms infrastructure, electrical equipment and subsea applications, metal clamps create unwanted electrical pathways or galvanic coupling risks.
- Weight and space — on production lines where millions of clips are installed annually, and on lightweight medical or white goods assemblies, a lower-profile, lighter clip makes a measurable difference.
- Zero leak path — a worm drive clamp cannot form a complete circle because the band gaps at the screw housing. In precision fluid connections, this is an unacceptable leak risk.
HCL's non-metallic clip range addresses each of these. The Ezyclik and Ezyclamp are both fully non-corrosive, non-conductive and non-magnetic, with no metal components anywhere in the assembly.
Ezyclik — Production-Line Hose Clip
The Ezyclik is a production-line hose clip specifically designed for assembly environments where speed, precision and a zero-leak path are critical. It forms a complete circle around the hose or tube, eliminating any leak path at the clip. The low-profile design is suited to applications where space around the clip is restricted, including under-bonnet automotive assemblies, appliance manufacturing, medical equipment and agricultural machinery.
The Ezyclik is the clip you find on production lines across the automotive, medical, hydromassage, agricultural and white goods industries globally. Where hundreds of thousands or millions of clips are installed per year, the Ezyclik's speed of installation, consistency and tool compatibility make it the standard non-metallic solution.

Size range: 44 sizes from 8.5mm to 45.5mm closed diameter (EZY-P-8.5 through EZY-P-45.5). This covers the vast majority of hose and tube diameters encountered in automotive and appliance assembly.
Materials: Standard material is PA66 (Nylon 6.6). PA66GF (glass-filled Nylon 6.6, rated to 150°C continuous) is available for higher-temperature applications. PP (Polypropylene) is available for applications requiring enhanced chemical resistance at lower temperatures.
Tooling: The Ezyclik is designed for use with HCL fitting tools. A manual hand tool suits lower-volume lines and field applications. A pneumatic tool is available for medium-volume production. For high-volume production lines, HCL's Control Box system offers HMI touch-screen control with digital air pressure regulation, consistent tightening time, dry-cycle detection and supervisory control — ensuring every clip is installed to the same specification.

Ezyclamp — Non-Metallic Worm Drive Clamp
The Ezyclamp is a worm drive hose clamp built entirely from engineering-grade nylon — no metal components. The band, screw and housing are all polymer, making it fully non-corrosive, non-conductive and non-magnetic. It suits applications where a standard metal worm drive clamp is the wrong material for the environment, but where a field-installation clip — rather than a production-line snap clip — is what's needed.
A key installation advantage: the screw can be pre-fitted to the clamp separately, then the clamp placed over the hose and the screw tightened last. This is particularly useful in restricted access situations. The 8mm hex screw suits a standard socket wrench or electric screwdriver. A wing-screw option allows hand tightening without tools where torque requirements allow.
Size Range and Materials

Herbie Clips — Nylon Spring Hose Clips
Herbie Clips are also manufactured by HCL Fasteners. Uniclamp is the sole Australian distributor. They are a nylon spring clip used for hose retention in applications where tool-free installation, low clamping force and reusability are needed. Common applications include automotive coolant hoses, garden and irrigation equipment, and general light-duty hose connections where a standard worm drive clamp is unnecessarily complex or heavy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I buy HCL Ezyclik clips in Australia?
Uniclamp is the sole Australian distributor for HCL Ezyclik and Herbie Clips. They are not available through any other Australian supplier. Order online at uniclamp.com.au or call 1300 027 886 for volume pricing and custom specifications.
What is the difference between Ezyclik and a standard hose clamp?
A standard worm drive hose clamp tightens from a single housing point and cannot form a complete circle — there is always a gap at the screw housing which can be a potential leak path. The Ezyclik forms a complete circle around the hose, eliminating any leak path. It is also fully non-metallic, has no corrosion mechanism, and is designed for high-speed production-line installation rather than field adjustment.
Can Ezyclamp be used in saltwater or marine environments?
Yes. The Ezyclamp has no metal components and will not corrode in saltwater. The PA12 variant is specifically recommended for marine and subsea applications, with a 20-year outdoor design life. For subsea cable and pipe securing where load requirements exceed what a clamp can handle, see the Smart Band and Smart Tie range.
Can I get Ezyclik in colours other than black?
Yes — custom colours are available to special order. Minimum quantities apply. Contact Uniclamp with your colour requirement, size and quantity and we will obtain pricing from HCL.
What is the pressure rating of Ezyclik?
Over 30 bar, dependent on the hose material and spigot design. Contact Uniclamp with the specific hose and spigot specification for detailed performance data. Full technical documentation from HCL is available on request.
